Epic is looking for an AV Engineer who is a strong analytical thinker that enjoys solving AV problems and providing high level solutions. A successful candidate should have strong AV troubleshooting skills and thrive in a high-pressure environment with shifting priorities. This candidate should be able to assess global AV requirements and determine tactical steps forward, as well as lead a team in implementing a strategic AV plan globally. The candidate will also architect, design and document new AV systems as required by Epic’s game, publishing and engine teams.
The person in this role will be responsible for the following:
Interacting with third party vendors of AV related products and services to manage a mix of next generation and legacy AV technologies
Performing hands-on technical content development work to ensure game and engine content looks awesome at conferences and company events
Delivering AV readiness, creating AV training and training employees how to use AV equipment
Designing, engineering and supporting a webcast solution which includes multicast and Unicast routing, impacts to network segments, traffic segmentation, QOS, and traffic prioritization
Providing project support for AV lifecycle projects and supporting/coordinating AV design and implementation activities for site expansions
Maintaining conference room check processes for Epic's global sites and ensuring AV equipment quality and maintenance is excellent
Obtaining an in-depth understanding of Epic’s global AV use cases and proposing comprehensive AV solutions with enterprise standard services
Participating in engine and game project meetings with IT architects and other stakeholders
Creating bill of materials, labor estimates and scope of work for new AV system proposals
Generating and managing project documentation, including: drawings, cut sheets, manuals
The ideal candidate will have a mix of the qualifications below:
- Experience supporting AV automation and control technologies like Crestron, Savant and Control4
- Proven success in implementing, configuring and supporting VTC platforms such as: Cisco, Lifesize, Google Meet, BlueJeans, Zoom, Polycom, etc)
- Experience supporting streaming related technologies such as Ustream and OBS
- Ability to proof concept new solutions and report business viability of the solution based upon Epic’s business requirements and team workflow.
- Understanding and applied knowledge of AV systems to help business users meet requirements in an efficient manner
