Epic is looking for an experienced Art Outsource Manager to join the Paragon team. In this role, you’ll work closely with the production and art teams to ensure that quality art content is is being delivered by outsource studios. Key elements of this role are existing, hands-on knowledge of 3D art and VFX pipelines for games, and ability to communicate effectively across multiple teams with exceptional transparency and planning. The ideal candidate has shipped multiple AAA titles as an Art Outsource Manager or art team Producer.



The person in this role will be responsible for the following:

  • Working with team leads to understand, determine, and deliver on art outsource needs for Paragon

  • Leveraging your knowledge of vendors and pipelines to ensure productive partnerships and clear communication

  • Owning the process of finding, evaluating, and selecting outsource studios

  • Scoping, negotiating, and setting objectives with external partners

  • Developing and documenting style targets, specifications, deliverables, and timelines

  • Managing appropriate contracts and invoice approval and delivery

  • Accepting deliverables, reviewing for quality, accuracy, testing in engine, and providing feedback as required

  • Organizing, tracking, and presenting deliverables for the team leads

  • Managing communications and providing feedback to artists, while helping maintain strong creative relationships between external and internal art teams

  • Identifying opportunities to improve workflow in the art pipeline and correcting as needed



 The ideal candidate will have a mix of the qualifications below:

  • Extensive experience with outsourcing and asset management required, preferably for AAA games

  • Demonstrated understanding of 3D art asset pipelines and software, preferably with modeling and VFX

  • Clear and concise communication, leadership, and people skills

  • Process oriented, with an understanding of project management methodologies

  • Must be highly organized, self-driven, and a great team player

  • Experience managing multiple teams on a demanding, fast-paced and quality-focused project

  • Ability to create a plan, track tasks, and identify and solve for risks and bottlenecks

  • Detail-oriented and able to track, prioritize, and conscientiously follow through on multiple competing elements of work, in timely fashion, across groups with varying interests

  • Goal-oriented with a constant eye on the prize and delivering excellence

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Project management skills - regardless of methodology, you know how to break down, manage, and report on the work you oversee

  • The perfect mix of autonomy, self motivation, teamwork, social intelligence and an ability to enjoy oneself amidst some of the smartest folks in the industry
