Epic Games is looking for someone to join our new Cloud Engineering team. Our Cloud Engineering team builds systems that help us manage our large-scale, highly available, online services that power our online games and products such as Paragon and Fortnite.
The person in this role will be responsible for the following:
Building systems and services that help with game and application delivery including packaging and configuration management.
Developing tools and systems that allow us to dynamically scale up and down effortlessly as our games scale and grow.
Working with development teams to help implement best practices around building resilient systems.
Interfacing directly with internal teams and cloud providers on performance improvements for running our platform.
Working with developers on game services, core services and Unreal Engine technology
Collaborating with Live Operations, QA teams, Build and other engineers on building tools that help us manage and test our games
Working with our online operations team on running live services
The ideal candidate will have a mix of the qualifications below:
Comfortable writing in golang and bash
Comfortable working in a Linux environment
Containerization technologies (Docker, rkt, Kubernetes, etc.)
Working with major cloud providers like AWS and GCE
Experience with load balancing across a variety of applications
Passion for gaming and building game platforms
Experience writing code in multiple languages
Love for building things and watch them run at scale
