We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Epic’s Global Headquarters. This individual will be critical to the Studio’s success as we build out a hybrid infrastructure environment, support a team of world-class developers and build out our “as a service” portfolio.  The person in this role will be responsible for the following:

  • Deploying new sites and systems worldwide to meet growing demand

  • Defining and maintaining physical layer standards across DC, IDF, wiring closets, and physical deployments at Epic sites.

  • Assisting with the definition, documentation and implementation of consistent processes

  • Creating documentation and manage datacenter installations and upgrades, including hardware manufacturers, datacenter and network providers, logistics partners and other service providers

  • Designing system configurations and defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards

  • Maintaining, managing, and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure (VMWare, Nutanix, Dell/EMC, NetApp, Cisco UCS, Cisco networking, Arista, etc.)

  • Monitoring and testing for potential bottlenecks, identify solutions, and work with developers to scale

  • Writing and maintaining custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention

The ideal candidate will have a mix of the qualifications below:

  • Previous experience installing / maintaining datacenter (and other IT) infrastructure and DCIM tools.

  • Experience running and improving operational processes in a rapidly changing environment.

  • IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, datacenter technology, networking, servers, authentication, storage, load balancing, databases, virtualization, security, and server virtualization

  • Knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., advanced networking/switching/routing).

  • Experience implementing projects involving enterprise hardware and/or software technologies.

  • Ability to configure and manage various storage systems (NetApp, VNX, Isilon)

  • Experience configuring and managing virtualization technologies (e.g VMware and AWS)

  • Hands on experience troubleshooting network equipment, preferably Arista and Cisco

  • Excellent knowledge troubleshooting and upgrading hyper-converged, converged, and traditional server hardware, preferably Nutanix, Cisco UCS, and Dell servers

  • Experience with enterprise monitoring systems (e.g. Solarwinds)

  • Experience with NFS, iSCSI, DHCP, DNS, SSH, and LDAP

  • Experience with automation software (e.g Ansible, Terraform, Packer)

  • Experience with cabling and cable management, and

  • Maintain asset inventory

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and RMA failed hardware

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

  • Experience writing code to create automated solutions (Bash, Ruby, Python, Javascript, Powershell)

  • Advanced understanding of and experience with Linux, OS X, or Windows operating systems
