Epic Games is adding a Senior Engineer, focused on Tools development, to its Player Support team. This position is responsible for designing and implementing both internal and external tools to support our games, launcher, and web services as related to Player Support. The ideal candidate understands and values the importance of robust reporting and management tools. Whether it's a tool used to manage our users or a web-based companion application for a game, at Epic you'll have opportunities to make an impact in many areas across the company. We use a wide range of technologies based on the application and need, allowing for people of various skill sets to make an impact.

The person in this role will be responsible for the following:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining web-based tools used by internal teams

  • Work closely with player support and game services teams to identify gaps in reporting and functionality as well as proposing solutions to improve usability

  • Help identify and resolve functional and workflow issues in player support systems and tools

  • Collecting, analyzing and exposing analytics that help drive feature development

  • Providing input for production/live release control process across the player support team

The ideal candidate will have a mix of the qualifications below:

  • Deep knowledge of JavaScript, Grails, or other object oriented language

  • Experience with Java, jQuery, Boostrap, and Javascript frameworks (React or Angular preferred)

  • Experience with database systems, both relational and NoSQL database, preferably MongoDB  

  • Experience working with distributed development teams

  • Passion for building and maintaining applications and tools that allow player support team to maximize player experience

  • Solid UX experience for tool development

  • Passion for creating high quality tools, UI, and workflows
