As one of Epic’s CG Supervisors/ Digital Production Supervisors, you’ll partner directly with a small, ambitious technical and production teams to develop content that showcases Epic’s award-winning Unreal Engine technology.  You’ll work in concert with creative teams in Larkspur and across Epic studios on projects that inspire and entertain. The ideal candidate will be passionate, resourceful, collaborative, organized, and excited about pushing the limits of technology. In this position, you’ll act as a key part of a cross-discipline leadership team, responsible for key projects within Epic’s portfolio.

The person in this role will be responsible for the following:

  • Own the development, communication, and management of both daily and long-term scheduling
  • Driving success at all phases of development, ensuring that visual and technical quality is achieved
  • Being able to problem solve leveraging any combination of technical or creative tools and resources
  • Work with discipline leads to determine time and people necessary to see projects through to completion
  • Help make informed decisions by partnering with team leads on work methods, development pipeline, priorities, and available people
  • Communicate frequently with the rest of the team on project status, risks, and opportunities
  • Ensure the team feels empowered to carry out the goal at hand by ensuring there is an achievable schedule, and the team has the resources they need to deliver on time and at a high quality level
  • Identify and communicate to the rest of the production team and/or the studio management any roadblocks or bottlenecks that may prevent the team from achieving their goals
  • Tracking and archiving or documenting work including project files, renders, or source images as needed
  • Participating in Dailies

     The ideal candidate will have a mix of the qualifications below:

    • Minimum of ten years with some combination of shipping games and/or leading content development for film, animated shows, VFX, or commercial production

    • Minimum 5 years experience in a CG or Digital Supervisor Role, or Lead for Game Cinematics

    • Clear understanding of development pipelines for animation, cinematics, or VFX

    • Comfortable being hands-on with the Unreal Engine or other tools used to review and develop content

    • Experience where you've managed development and creative teams in the creation and delivery of a complex product

    • Worked in an environment where you had to exhibit amazing problem solving skills daily, viewing each new problem as an opportunity for success

    • Approach challenges creatively and methodically, seeing them through to final resolution

    • Possess the ability to communicate with varying levels of stakeholders within your team and throughout the company

    • Goal oriented, with a constant eye on the prize, delivering excellence; in doing so you’ll manage and motivate the team to continue pushing forward into new territory

    • You are confident in amicably solving problems while still attempting to aggressively achieve business goals

    • Deeply organized and methodical, while possessing the flexibility to work on ground-breaking projects with a range of needs
