Epic Games is looking for a motivated Motion Capture Stage Manager to be responsible for everything from set-up and integration to daily operation of it’s in-house mocap stage. In this role you’ll run the stage, responsible for everything from keeping hardware, pipeline integration, to shot production and direction. You’ll work closely with actors, directors, and supervisors from pre-planning through final deliverables for a range of animation and live action shows.
The person in this role will be responsible for the following:
Working with the development team to understand their motion capture requirements, and establishing an in-house stage and systems to meet those needs
Owning the daily operations of the systems and operating shoots
Working with the supervisors and animation teams to organize shoots, build sets and props
Place markers and direct mocap personnel as needed
Oversee mocap data tracking and assist with integration pipeline to ensure high quality data
Problem solving any issues that arise to ensure smooth operation of the stage at all levels
Establish policies and procedures to keep the stage a safe and well-run environment
The ideal candidate will have a mix of the qualifications below:
Demonstrated commitment to quality and exceptional attention to detail
Experience working as a motion capture technician or running a stage for a variety of clients for games, animation, film, vfx
Experience working with, and contemporary knowledge of motion capture technology, including hardware, software, and environment requirements
Exceptional communication skills and unflappable professionalism
Experience working with systems and software such as VICON, Optitrack, Motionbuilder, Maya, Faceware
Experience with game engines, preferably UE4
Excellent creative problem solving
