Epic is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Community Manager to connect our fans with the team who is launching Fortnite, our latest title. The ideal candidate will have experience engaging online communities across a variety of platforms from social (think Twitter and Facebook) to gamer focused media like Twitch. If you're a passionate gamer with a strong track record of managing communities, we'd love to talk.
The person in this role will be responsible for the following:
Working with other members of the publishing team, and the development team, to define community plans
Initiating positive and supportive conversations inside the community around content, contests, information and opportunities that will be of interest to our players
Contributing, organizing, recording, writing and/or creating interesting content for our community that keeps players engaged with our games
Monitoring and responding to conversations on social media, in comment threads and on the forums, and in social media channels such as Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, etc.
Identifying, building, and maintaining relationships with key influencers and power users, and tracking the impact of that interaction
Helping organize the process of Epic developer participation on owned channels (blog, social media, forums)
Establishing metrics for growing, engaging and retaining the member base; regularly analyzing & reporting on community sentiment & making plan adjustments according to performance
Improving communication with our players by interacting directly with them, resolving their concerns, keeping them informed about development, and communicating their feedback to the development team
With marketing lead & other stakeholders, helping plan & suggest changes to the website & content cadence to support community goals
Traveling to support community events and trade shows
The ideal candidate will have a mix of the qualifications below:
Well-versed in key social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, reddit, YouTube)
Great written and verbal communication skills (will be writing in communications channels and may also create content. Blogs, etc.)
Familiarity with content creator space (YouTube, Twitch)
Ability to prioritize the high number of tasks that will always be on their plate
Some direct experience managing a gaming community
Experience creating content
Experience managing social media channels
Bonus: some level of on camera experience
